About Hootifully Made

Hootifully Made was born from a place of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to family. In June 2024, my brother, Travis, suffered a stroke while driving, resulting in multiple internal injuries. He was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, where he spent more than 20 days undergoing numerous surgeries and receiving medical implants he would manage for the following year. After his release, he came to live with me so I could support his recovery. As medical bills began to mount, I knew I needed to find a way to help provide for him.

One afternoon, while walking down an aisle at Michaels, Travis mentioned that our mother—who passed away a few years earlier—had always wanted to learn how to make candles. Standing right beside the candle supplies, the idea for our business was born.

The name “Hootifully Made” carries deep meaning for our family. Both our mother and grandmother loved owls, and I have since begun my own owl collection in my classroom. Our brand colors were inspired by our mother’s name, Dawn, and every detail of our business reflects intentional symbolism and heartfelt purpose.

During this same season, I was also completing my Doctorate in Education. Through every challenge, we have witnessed God’s faithfulness and guidance. Recently, we expanded our offerings to include a cleaning product line alongside our handcrafted candles. At a women’s conference, we discovered the scripture that now anchors our mission: Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” This verse reminds us that we are created with purpose, called to make a meaningful and intentional impact.

Hootifully Made represents far more than a candle or apparel business. It reflects the perseverance, faith, and strength our family has demonstrated over the past several years. Even in our darkest moments, God has remained faithful and present, and we give Him all the glory for the growth we are experiencing.

What began in our kitchen, dining room, and living room is now expanding into our garage. We are taking small, intentional steps forward, confident that our path is guided and ordered by the Lord.

We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our family and friends who have encouraged us every step of the way—whether by helping prepare products, assisting at vendor events and festivals, or lifting us up in prayer. We could not do this without you.
